Overcoming Overwhelm

In moments of overwhelm and stress, a feeling of chaos, or a mind that is loud and endlessly running….typically when we feel there is so much to be done and never enough time to do it all….this is when I completely stop and do nothing.

I get still.
Mentally and Physically.

I have come to understand the actions we take are either out of fear or out of love. And what we put out, is what we get back.

In these moments of overwhelm we are acting out of fear.
Fear of a lack of time. Fear of disappointing. Fear of failure.

The only way to break the cycle is to be still and wait until you are in a place of peace.

I do this in a few different ways.
Yoga

Cooking

Reading

Gardening

Meditation

Cleaning / Decluttering
Nature / Hike by myself

Listening to Spiritual Teachers

Whatever it looks like for you, however you can, get yourself back to a state of calm and peace – everything else can wait. And should wait. Your best work does not come from a place of fear, it comes from a place of love.

I hope the next time you feel overwhelmed you have the strength to be still. To go inside yourself and find your clarity before you continue on.

By doing this you will come to find this time of stillness will be followed by a time of intense progress. Everything is balanced. With stillness comes action. Which brings aligbed action. And from aligned action we step into the flow state of peaceful, streamlined productivity.

Jody

Don’t Think – F E E L

Always be coming from a place of giving and love.

Our bodies are built on a foundation of Love, Joy, and Compassion. If our actions are not coming from matching intentions, what we try and create will inevitably crumble.

Nature knows what is best and it will consistently return to it’s delicate balance no matter what disrupts it – eliminating that which tried to cause it harm.

This quote has been a mantra of mine for awhile now.

It brings me back into balance and directs me to the people and places that feel like home.

Overthinking – we all do it.

But it creates chaos in our minds and bodies, and then translates out into our lives.

When we are able to master our minds . . . and let the thoughts begin to subside . . . and then learn to watch them from the backseat . . . life suddenly just flows effortlessly. As if we are being guided to exactly what we intuitively desire.

We change our vibration back into a state of abundance and joy.

Never stop learning and exploring your curiosities.

Pay attention to what life keeps putting in front of you.

It’s trying to guide you.

“Don’t think. Just Feel. And if it feels like home, follow its path ”

If you are looking for more guidance

Regain Your Control

Life gets weird.

We all know it.

So what do we do when it does?

It can be really easy to loose ourselves when something, or multiple things, come up that take over our minds. Every thought becomes centered around it. And before you know it a few weeks, maybe months, have gone by and you feel like you’ve lost yourself and any momentum in the direction of keeping yourself centered and balanced.

Well…. that’s just another thought too.

And we are not our thoughts. We, our souls,  just observe them. And we can choose which ones we want to listen to. The fact you realized time had flown by tells you your mind is growing and strengthening. This time your awareness caught up and now is your opportunity to refocus. To recenter and get balanced out.

The perfect opportunity actually.

Because now you have a really good idea of what you DON’T want. So start adjusting and adding in more of what you DO want.

And please remember – sustainable changes are made by taking baby steps. Not 10, or even 5, huge changes all at once.

ONE change at a time. ( Maybe 2 , but lets keep it at that )

Make it small. It could even look like spending the next 3 days thinking and entertaining the thought of making a baby step. THAT IS A STEP.

The smaller the step, the more likely you are to do it and accomplish it. Then, your baby steps will add up, and the more you accomplish them the more confidence you will have in yourself and your ability to make change.   And it just grows and grows from there 🙂

You’ve Got this!

I know you do!

Need a little guidance?

What is one thing that is bothering you lately?
What do you want it to look like instead?

Now – what is your baby step you can take right now?

And as always – I am here to help if you need more in-depth guidance

Send me a message.

That right there could be your baby step.     🙂

All my best,
Jody

I Like What I See

When you wake up in the morning, look around.

Look at your hands, your legs and body.

Look at the bed you’re in, the room that surrounds you.

The things that surround you.

Look at yourself in the mirror.

And say – I like what I see.

It might sound congruent.

It might not at all.

Some of it may, while some of it might not.

All is okay.

Each morning, keep saying, I like what I see.

And before you know it…if you didn’t already…you will start loving what you see. Your life will shift, your perspective will shift, the things that surround you will shift into being congruent with this statement.

Everywhere you go…

I like what I see.

I love what I’m doing.

We create the reality that is in front of us. Every piece.

First in our minds, then manifesting out through physical form.

If we are looking around saying/thinking I don’t like what I see, I don’t like where I am or what I’m doing….we create more of that for ourselves.  Those words, those thoughts are like seeds being planted in our minds, and the more we think and say them…the more we water them to grow and get bigger.

Lets only grow what we want to see.

When we catch ourselves looking out and seeing something we don’t like…retract from those thoughts…and replace them with, I like what I see. It may seem weird to say I like what I see, when in actuality we may not currently like what’s in front of us… keep your trust. The transformative power behind looking at something that you don’t like, and saying out loud, I like what I see….will probably shock you.

Reinforcing this in our minds can very quickly shift what you are looking at into something you actually like seeing.

You will know you’ve learned this concept when you’re living, moving, and doing everything in a state of joyful flow, each moment and experience growing in power one after another.

“The desire for a more positive experience is itself a negative experience. And paradoxically, the acceptance of ones negative experience is itself a positive experience.” Mark Manson

Namaste.

The light in me, sees and honors the light in you.

A Day of Giving

I have recently decided to dramatically lessen the material things I own.

For a few reasons.

I have more than I need.

I plan to spend some time traveling and having less belongings will be easier to manage.

And less things to pack when I decide to live in different locations.

I’m working on only owning and buying things which have deep meaning to me instead of buying just to buy or out of whim. (Mindful – intentional spending.)

Creating space for growth. Physically and mentally.

If I haven’t worn certain clothes or used an item in a decent amount of time, or if it has been stored away somewhere in a box for longer than I can remember….there is someone else who could use it more than myself.

I spent some time thoroughly going through all my possessions and asking myself:

Is this something that brings me joy?

When was the last time I used it?

Does it align with the person I am wanting to be?

Will someone else appreciate it more than I am right now?

Some items were very easy to let go of. Others I looked at, had a deep sense of emotion come to the surface, and had to revisit another day. In the end, realizing the attachment I had to the item was not serving me in a positive way.

A huge part of what helped me be able to give, and in such a big way, was coming to the understanding everything in this life is energy.

Everything, including us, ebbs and flows in and out of our lives effortlessly when we are connected to nature and free flowing.

It is when we latch on to something that we disrupt this natural flow. It is when we store items in our possession, physically or mentally, that aren’t in alignment with ourselves, or out of fear, that we block natures ability to allow more and better things to come our way. When we hold on to items and emotions, we stop the flow of new things coming into our existence that are meant to, which help us continue to grow and evolve.

Let nature be our teacher again.
So much beauty is found in the act of letting go. Letting go of the old, makes room for something new.

When we give, we in turn allow ourselves room to receive.

You know the saying – you can’t give without receiving something yourself in return.

The return is a slew of positive emotions which can dramatically raise your vibration. In turn allowing you the ability to live in a state of flow and effortless ease.

Now doesn’t that sound nice.

I spent a full day giving away items that I no longer needed and it was an incredible day. I utilized an Unconditional Give or Take Group I found where I could offer my belongings directly to those in my area. Being able to directly give away your items to the exact person and to feel their appreciation and gratitude is such a wonderful feeling.

I have a handful more boxes I will be going through over the next couple months to have another day of giving.

My intention is to inspire you to do the same.

To start in a single room of your home and one by one, go through your belongings and make piles of what you no longer want.

Let it be enjoyable.

Feel good about what you’re doing ( because it is amazing! ) and let the physical act of cleaning out your belongs also be cleaning to your mental state.

Creating physical space, also creates mental space.

And then find someone ( or many) who could use it more than you.

This practice creates a clean and open space vibrationally for you to receive what life is trying to give you.

This world we live in is consistently responding to our wants and desires, but when we are blocked we block our ability to receive what we ask for.

Try letting go of emotional attachments you have to items.

If you haven’t used it in a awhile…do you really need it?

When you look at it or use it, do you feel good about it?

If not, if it brings up negative emotions, ask yourself if you still want to carry those emotions inside you. If so, or if you’re not ready, it’s okay to keep it. But if not, let it go – and the emotions will go with it allowing room for new and better ones to come in. Ones you can now intentionally choose.

May your coming days of giving be beautiful and a time of immense positive change in your life.

Towards a life of pure enjoyment and ease.

May you be happy. May you be healthy. May you be at peace.

May your life flow with ease.

Vulnerability

It’s what makes us human.

It’s what makes us feel alive.
It’s what brings the deep connection.

It connects us with who we truly are.

It is not weakness – It is Strength
It is looked down upon – But it should be Cherished.

Allow yourself to be vulnerable. Not only around others, but even with yourself.

Cry when you need to.
See it as a releasing of the old to make room for the new.
Our bodies are filled with this energy.
Let it out instead of
storing it away.

There will be a flush of release throughout your body by doing so.

Be vulnerable around others.
Choose wisely who deserves this part of you.
It breaks down a wall that allows for more love, joy, and comfort to come in.

Everything is connected.
We are meant to be connected to each other.
But we unknowingly refuse to feel it.

Feel connected to those around you.
Let them see you at your lows.
Let them see you at your highs.

You are meant to be around the people you are around.

See yourself in these people and your actions toward them will soften and become more passionate.

We are all human. We all come from the same thing.
Be you.
It opens the ability for others to do the same.

Are you Awake?

“Once we see the light, we can’t unsee it.

What once made sense no longer does.

Seeing new things will always require change, as the lessons seek to shift into our bones.

Many of us avoid the unfamiliar because we doubt we can hold it. We’ve been told for so long that we need a guidebook to tell us what to see. The American dream promises fulfillment while pouring concrete into our legs assuring that we feel as if we can’t stand anywhere but where they say.

We can pretend to build a happy home within the safety of the known, but it’s a facade. There is no promised safety. Just flow or resistance.

We either surrender to the present or we create anxiety, depression, and apathy.

Experiences deliver these lessons like a wheelbarrow of compost, delivering ingredients essential for growth. We can refuse to absorb it, but in doing so we choose a piece of life over the entirety.

We’ve been conditioned to feel weak, but our arms can hold more than we know. If it has arrived on our doorstep it is ours to meet, digest, wrestle with, consume, and then spit out what we no longer need.

Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, I hope that you take a moment to breathe in, soften your heart, remind yourself that you are capable, and lean into your lessons.

In each moment it is yours to choose:

Resistance or Flow”
